Lincoln Police say 30 pigeons were stolen from a backyard coop in Lincoln.

Police say 30 pigeons were stolen from a backyard coop in Lincoln.
Officer Katie Flood said the owner of the pigeons noticed the hasp on his coop was broken Thursday afternoon at his home at 1111 S 32nd street. The crime happened sometime between Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday at noon.
Flood said 30 pigeons were either stolen or let free. Each pigeon is valued at $5-10 a piece.

The pigeons that disappeared were helpless; even without subzero temperatures and snow, they had no way to return to the coop. Anyone who would take a man's beloved hobby pigeons would hurt other pets too. I hope someone comes forward with information that stops this person from hurting another defenseless animal!
