South central Nebraska got pummeled last night with multiple tornados just as residents and emergency workers began to clean up rubble from Saturday's storm in nearby counties.
The National Weather Service in Hastings said yesterday afternoon storm surveyors spotted multiple tornados in Thayer and Nuckolls Counties.
Near Nelson, a tornado cut a three-mile log path and took out a grain bin and farm machinery on its way.
Near Deschler, a house had its roof torn off, several buildings were damaged and power lines were down.
Debris was reported on the ground near Ruskin in Nuckolls County.
The tornados hit late yesterday afternoon when a strong cold front plowed through the region.
The weather service says at one time, three tornados were on the ground five miles west of Hebron, and baseball size hail fell in Deschler in Thayer County.
