The Wyoming Civil Air Patrol and Fremont and Sublette County sheriff's departments are searching for a single-engine airplane believed to be carrying the parents and girlfriend of University of Arizona golfer and Mitchell, Nebraska, native Nate Lashley.
Authorities say the plane was lost from radar contact Sunday afternoon. It was carrying Rod and Char Lashley and Leslie Hofmeister, the daughter of Scottsbluff attorney Paul Hofmeiester.
Civil Air Patrol spokesman Rick Fawcett says the search is being conducted near the continental divide in a mountainous area south of Dubois, Wyoming. There had been reports the plane refueled in Dubois but Fawcett says no one there remembered seeing the area residents.
The plane was returning to Scottsbluff from Sun River, Oregon, where Lashley was playing in a regional golf tournament.
