Saturday's storm scattered more than just siding and rooftops across southeastern Nebraska. More than 50 pets from the Hickman and Hallam area were also displaced by the twister.
Lincoln's Capital Humane Society began receiving "lost" pets around 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Among them, 45 dogs, five cats and two parrots. As of 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, only two of the dogs remained unclaimed.
Humane Society Officials say the pets only sustained minor injuries and most were in need of a simple bath.
If you lost a pet, contact the Humane Society at (402)-441-4488.
