Nebraska is hit with severe weather for the second consecutive weekend.

Two people were injured near Zorinsky Lake in Omaha after a lightning strike. One man in his 50s was struck directly by a lightning bolt, and was sent to the hospital in critical condition. Another man, in his 20s, was knocked to the ground as a result of the strike. He was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Several parts of central Nebraska were without power after severe storms moved through the state. The communities of Holdrege, Gothenburg, Shelton, Wood River, Alma, and Gibbon were all without power. Several hundred residents in Kearney were also without power as late as Sunday morning after losing electricity during the storms.

In the eastern part of Nebraska, people in Platte County reported hail over two inches in diameter. Parts of Jefferson and Gage Counties received over six inches of rain, washing over area roads and causing flash flooding. Damage reports across eastern Nebraska range from windows being blown out to trees down to vehicle and roof damage because of wind and hail.
