Nebraska was hit hard by recent snow storms, but could all that snow actually do some good?

Some climatologists say it could help bring the state out a decade long drought.

Besides helping our environment, it could help revive our economy.

More snow means more water once it melts.

According to a Climatologist with the National Drought Mitigation Center, Mark Svoboda,
that's good news for the tourism and agriculture industries.

"We've got all this moisture there. Granted it's too frozen to be working its way into the soil right now but that will be there come spring,"said Mark Svoboda.

Svoboda says in past years, water sources ran dry which resulted in higher irrigation costs and decreased crop production. The state lost nearly $1 billion in the worst years.
