Lancaster County Deputies are investigating a scam involving repair work to a lightning rod and cables at a home outside of Lincoln.

Sheriff Terry Wagner said the 68 year old victim called deputies Tuesday. She said a man had come to her home in the 1700 block of north 134th with the offer to fix some problems he could see with the lightning rod on her home.

Wagner said the man did some repairs to the rod and cables leading from it, then charged the woman $920 for the work. Wagner said that amount is far too high and the woman was afraid she had been scammed.

Wagner said they have a suspect, and said he had been a suspect in an asphalt scam last year.
