Fifty-one-year-old Douglas Eicher was arrested Friday morning for sexual contact with an undercover officer during a sting operation. Eicher is superintendent of the Milford school district. He was released on bond.
The Milford school board met Monday evening but they did not discuss Eicher. One Milford resident came to the meeting to ask the board to fire Eicher.
She says she left another school district because a teacher sexually assaulted her child. She will do the same if Eicher stays.
“My son when he heard it on the news he was like I can’t go back there because I’ve been through that situation,” said the woman who only wanted to be identified as Rhonda.
The board did not allow public comment on Eicher calling it a personnel issue. They held an emergency meeting Sunday night and issued this statement:
“…Because this involves a confidential personnel matter we are not able to discuss it. The board of education can assure the students, parents and staff of our school that we will continue to provide a safe and appropriate learning environment for our students and staff.”
Around Milford many resident say they are shocked by the allegations. But they are putting faith in the school board to make a decision about Eicher’s job.
