After 19 years as Lincoln Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Phil Schoo finishes up his last day of paper work. "That's what the job of superintendent is all about," said Schoo. He's faced some big challenges throughout the years, one of them, adding ten new schools to a growing district.
He's also received criticism that he's not the best communicator. To some extend, Schoo agrees with his critics, "We'll that's probably true in some ways and sometimes it may be that I don't always tell people what they want to hear." He doesn't apologize for that. As he finished his last day, he had one final thought for people. Schoo said, "I think as pleased as we are with the public schools in our community, we should not be satisfied. We should continue to push our community to become better in the future."
Now the retired Superintendent plans to buy a trailer and travel around the country visiting his six kids.
