A Pender attorney has pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of trying to break IRS laws.
On Monday, 55-year-old Stuart Mills admitted that in 1999, he helped a client fill out a fraudulent estate tax return.
Mills faces up to three years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 31.
