Norfolk police are asking for help from anyone who might have seen something suspicious in the area where the body of an infant was found Thursday night.
Investigators are still trying to piece together the events that led to the death of a newborn baby boy who was found in a spillway that cuts through Norfolk.
Madison County Coroner Joe Smith says the boy was probably no more than two days old.
Police Chief Bill Mizner says the autopsy also determined that the baby had been dead for at least two days. He did not appear to have been abused before his death. Indications are that the baby was in the water for at least 30 minutes.
Smith says it's also unknown whether the baby was born alive.
Police are particularly interested in finding a distraught woman who a witness spotted running from the area. Police say she is not a suspect, but may have seen something.
