A man was arrested Sunday evening after kicking and causing damage to his girlfriend's car.
According to Captain Chris Peterson of the Lincoln Police Department, just before midnight Sunday evening, in the 1700 block of South 8th Street, officers responded to a report of vandalism.
Captain Peterson says the victim's car had been kicked by her boyfriend, 46-year-old Anthony Hembd of Lincoln, causing $15 in damages.
Early Monday morning, the suspect was contacted by officers for another matter and was taken into custody on the vandalism. Peterson adds that, when initially arrested, the man posed no resistance but spit on officers as he entered the jail.
Hemdb was charged with vandalism, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

$15.00? That sounds like the price of a car wash. Didn't do much damage, except to himself.
I certainly hope there is more to this story. Seems kind of strange to take a person to jail over a $15 vandalism charge (I believe this is a misdemeanor offense for $15 in damages). Sounds like cops gone wild to me.
Three-time felon.
