While 300 supporters of Republican congressional candidate Jeff Fortenberry ate breakfast with the Vice President, more than a hundred Nebraskans' gathered at the corner of 12th and Q streets protesting Vice President Dick Cheney's capital city visit.
The protest which included members of Nebraskans' for Peace and the Nebraska Democratic Party passed out posters all aimed at Vice President Cheney's political record.
Jane Wendt of Milford says, "This is about the only avenue we had to express our feelings here in Nebraska and we don't get that many opportunities to do that."
Another person the protest line, "Basically we have an administration that's based on lies and secrecy." according to Lynn Darling of Lincoln.
