Hall County Attorney Jerry Janulewicz confirmed the death of the pilot, although would not release a name. Janulewicz did say the man was from central Nebraska.
The Federal Aviation Administration will soon begin investigating the accident, which happened just after 10 a.m. The plane came down around Nebraska Highway 11 south of Wood River.
