A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man whose remains were found along a Lincoln road in March.

Police issued a warrant last week for the arrest of Austin Ice on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Rodrigo De La Rosa on Lincoln. Ice had already been arrested in Rapid City, South Dakota, and is being held on unrelated charges.

Two boys discovered the remains of De la Rosa along West Old Cheney road in March.

Police say De la Rosa was murdered in early 2000 after an argument between him and Ice's mother, Gloria Woundedfoot.

According to the arrest warrant, Ice told his sister-in-law that he killed a man named Rico by strangling him with an electrical cord.

Police say a South Dakota identification card with Ice's information was found in the pocket of a jacket near De la Rosa's remains.

Once authorities in South Dakota release him, he is slated to face charges in Nebraska.
