Not one, not two, but three Lincoln homes have been busted by police, for what investigators say is the biggest marijuana bust they have seen in the Capital City.
"Any three of these individually, eclipse the largest grow that I've been associated with," said Captain Brian Jackson, Narcotics Task Force.
For many months, Captain Jackson and the rest of the Narcotics Task Force have been investigating the home at 5210 North 11th Street.
Friday, a search warrant was served at the home, leading police to two other homes in Lincoln, one in the Knolls at 2620 Norman Circle, and another at 3260 Dudley Street.
1,300 live plants, with an equal number of harvested plants were found inside the homes.
Police estimate the total street value was worth well above $2 million.
Although the home at 5210 North 11th Street may look normal from the outside, investigators say on the inside, lots of extensive changes were made, just to make sure the home could be modified, and handle the operation.
"The electrical was modified, the ventilation was modified. They're kept at a very high in humidity temperature range," said Capt. Jackson.
"A great deal of equipment for irrigating and grow lights and ducting and ventilation were all installed," said Chief Tom Casady, Lincoln Police Department.
32-year-old Aaron Polk, 32-year-old Kevin Belton, and 31-year-old Chien Nguyen, all of Lincoln, and 52-year-old Cuong Ngo and 46-year-old Bans Troung of Canada, were all arrested for manufacturing a controlled substance.
Residents in the area, who declined to comment on camera, said they were shocked to find out such a large operation was taking place in their quiet, nice neighborhood.
"You know your neighborhoods better than we do, and we would ask that you would be aware of activity occurring in your neighborhoods and report what could be suspicious activity," said Capt. Jackson.
Police say this may just be the tip of the iceberg, with more arrests possible as the investigation continues.
Police believe there are other growing operations in Lincoln.
No weapons were found in the homes, just the plants.
Belton was the only one police believe was living in one of the homes.

See, the police are to busy busting people with marijuana and filling the jail cells with drug dealers. Stop worrying about the people who are smoking pot and start worrying about all the murders still on the loose. Just a few months ago, by my house, a man was murdered because the people ran into his house to look for pot. If it was legal, that most likely would have never happened! I bet more then half the town of Lincoln smoke marijuana! And it's not a gateway drug. People who decide to do meth or coke, that's all them. Marijuana did not tell them to do other drugs. I've been smoking and there is no way i would ever try something man made. Alcohol does more harm! Now that's pathetic! Obama should just legalize it so the world can be more at peace!
After reading more of these comments, I guess I should come clean. I enjoy a few shots of whiskey after a hard day of paying taxes with a little left for me to keep on going making bad decision makers look good.
I notice that most of your comments come on the cops busting potheads genre. Where does that tell you your town is heading? The tip of the iceberg? Yes..yes it is! The sunami is rising just out of your site. When this one comes ashore you will be lucky to have a community at all! Morality has been wiped clean from our lexicon. Thanks public schools and government. Now you will reap your whirlwind!
