While child protection training is a good preventive teaching tool to help children know what to do if a predator approaches, many kids aren't taught the physical skills needed. That's why the Lincoln Karate Clinic ends their classes with a "Stranger Danger" session designed to reiterate the proper speech and moves necessary to escape a dangerous situation.
Director Scott Walls is also a mental health counselor for youth and says the classes help give kids the confidence they need to react appropriately in an unexpected situation involving a child predator or even a bully at school.
The Lincoln Karate Clinic teachers Taishin Karate to children, teens, adults, and entire families. Click on the link below to learn more about their classes.
