A Grand Island teenager is dead and her brother seriously injured following a one vehicle crash Tuesday near North Bend.
Members of the Grand Island Senior High crisis team will be on hand Thursday to counsel students upset by the death of Lindsay Hughes, 16.
Hughes would have been a junior at the high school this fall.
Hughes died at University Hospital in Omaha Wednesday night.
Dodge County Sheriff Dan Weddle says Hughes' younger brother, Brian, was also taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 30 about six miles west of North Bend. Weddle says witnesses report the vehicle went off the road and into a ditch before rolling.
Weddle says the children's father, Kyle Hughes, was driving. The family's mother was a front seat passenger, and Lindsay and her two brothers were in the back seat.
