Thousands of rock fans put up with the dust and heat at the Second Wind Ranch outside Comstock to hear a number of groups from Thursday through Sunday.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Firehouse, and BTO were among those on stage. So was Alice Cooper, who fan Dave Urbanski of Kearney calls, quote, "the greatest rock 'n' roller of all time."
Mark Slaughter, lead singer for the band Slaughter, ran off the stage in the middle of a song and performed in the middle of the crowd.
John Gauthier came from Ottawa, Canada, after reading about Comstock Rock of the Internet. He thought it would make a great vacation.
Attendance figures were not immediately available for the second of three music festivals at Comstock. The third festival, Godstock, is set for Aug. 6 through Aug. 8.
