A 9-year-old boy was killed when a Bobcat Loader backed over him near Ashland.
According to Cass County Sheriff William C. Brueggemann, at 3:38 p.m. Saturday, Deputies along with Ashland Fire and Rescue, Greenwood Fire and Rescue, Murdock Fire and Rescue, Elmwood Fire and Rescue, responded to a rural acreage at 12920 262nd St., Ashland,
Brueggemann reports 35-year-old Augusto Figueroa was operating a bobcat loader at the acreage and was clearing brush and debris in a tree grove, when Grant Johnson stepped into the path of the bobcat, as the machine was backing-up.
Johnson was a third grade student at Ashland Elementary in Ashland, Ne.
