Police are looking for suspects who stole two mowers and a trailer from a lawn care business in West Lincoln.
Police say sometime after Midnight on Thursday, someone broke into L & C Lawn Care at 2611 West M Street Court. LPD Sergeant Don Scheinost says the suspects pried open a rear walk-in door and opened an overhead garage door.
Scheinost says the suspects found some keys to the company truck and drove it out of the garage. Then, he says, a different vehicle was backed into the garage and hooked up to a trailer. Scheinost says at that point, the suspects drove off with the trailer that had two ExMark industrial mowers on it. The trailer also contained a blower, two leaf blowers and a saw. The total theft loss in the burglary is around $14,000, and each mower was worth around $5,000.
"Obviously it's not your standard 21-inch Toro we're talking about here, we are talking about some high-dollar high-quality equipment that professionals use," Scheinost says.
One of the missing mowers is a 2004 red and gray ExMark mower with a 48" deck. The other is a 2005 ExMark mower, similar in color, with a 52" deck.
Scheinost noted these mowers are similar to the ones recently stolen from the city of Lincoln public works department. However, he says the cases are probably not related.
