"It's only appropriate that I read the Gettysburg Address in front of Lincoln's statue," said Illinois resident Mickey Straub who is visiting 50 state capitol buildings in 50 days.
He says his mission is to promote patriotism along the way by reading President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address in front of each Capitol.
"I've said for years that if America was as good at promoting patriotism as Texas is at promoting state pride, this country would be even more awesome than it already is," said Straub.
Armed with his handouts and his President Lincoln tie, he makes his 32nd Capitol appearance in 23 days. It's one way to learn the state capitals.
"I've learned them on the trip especially in the east."
Straub will fly to Alaska and Hawaii, but the rest of the way, he will drive, only fitting, a Lincoln Continental.
He knows his state capitals and he's making the trip from sea to shining sea to shine light on patriotism in America.
