Both lanes of Interstate 80 are reopened after a semi trailer tipped over in an early morning crash.
Just after midnight, the Nebraska State Patrol was called to the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 at mile marker 391, for a reported rollover crash involving a semi. NSP said they received reports that just the trailer had overturned and there were no injuries.
When troopers arrived, they found the semi with one trailer still attached to the truck and another trailer on its side, blocking the right lane.
Troopers and Lancaster County Deputies blocked the right lane until two tow trucks were able to upright the trailer and then tow it away.
The driver of the semi told 10/11 News the trailer caught the edge of the road and he over-corrected, causing the trailer to whip around and then tip over. NSP said witnesses and evidence at the scene suggests the same thing.
Troopers said there was another semi in the area and a car that squeaked past the two trucks as the one was loosing control.
The trailer containing dry goods was the only damaged vehicle. No one was injured.
