Apps Help Parents Keep Kids Protected on Cell Phones

Lincoln, Neb.-- If you bought your kid a cell phone for Christmas or are on the fence about buying one in the future, there are some ways you can make sure they stay safe when using one.

Different apps out now can let parents stay in control of their kid's cell phone use.

U.S. Cellular offers the Family Protector app which lets adults monitor different things on the kid's cell phones like text messages and photos.

If the kid is old enough to drive, the app also lets parents to turn off texting while the kid is driving.

U.S. Cellular offers workshops every third Saturday of the month for parents to learn more about phones and how to keep their kids safe when using them.
