A shots fired investigation leads to the arrest of a Lincoln man for domestic assault.
Lancaster County Sheriff's Deputies were called to home near 130th and Pioneers at 11:30 Sunday night.
Sheriff Terry Wagner says 44-year-old Randall Merryman reported 41-year-old Rene Rodriguez had shot at him.
Wagner says Rodriguez gave Merryman's girlfriend a ride home and that upset Merryman.
The two got into an argument and that's when Wagner says Rodriguez pulled out a gun and shot at Merryman, missing him.
"During that investigation, deputies learned Merryman's 33-year-old girlfriend had been assaulted. As that investigation continued it was determined Merryman had struck her in the head and body repeatedly, pulled her hair, biting her physically all over her body and tried to strangle her at one point," Wagner said.
Marryman is facing charges of domestic assault and strangulation. Deputies arrested Rodriguez for making terroristic threats.
