The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office says they were called to a rural residence south of North Platte where a man was holding a burglar at gun point.
A woman told deputies her 21 year old son came home to find their home broken into. Deputies say the son was legally armed with at least two hand guns, and caught the burglar in the act of stealing.
Deputies say they took Scott Hulse, 34, into custody at the scene. They say Hulse is a transient who had been eating food from the home, had keys to one of the family's vehicles in his pocket, and was wearing clothes that belonged to the home owner.
Hulse is in the Lincoln County Detention Center on charges of burglary and criminal mischief. According to the jail website his bond is set at 10% of $25,000.
