New charges in a Lincoln homicide case were filed Wednesday in district court.
Officials say 23-year-old Miguel Castillo is now facing a first-degree murder charge for the killing of a Lincoln man in rural Lancaster County.
Both Castillo and 20-year-old Adrian Casares are facing charges in connection with 25-year-old Tyler Schoenrock's murder.
A man delivering newspapers found his body in a rural area north of Lincoln in December 2012.
Preliminary autopsy reports confirm that Schoenrock was shot to death.
In addition to Castillo's first-degree murder charge, he's also facing charges for use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by prohibited person.
Casares is charged with accessory to murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony, terroristic threats and possession of a firearm by prohibited person.
