Authorities say the remains found in a field on the west side of Columbus were those of a 58-year-old man who's been missing since December.
The man was identified as William Noll, of Columbus.
Police Capt. Todd Thalken says an autopsy showed no sign that Noll's death was a result of a crime. Thalken says Noll had a history of health problems.
The remains were found Tuesday afternoon in a field north of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.
