The Cornhusker Nationals brings more than a thousand BMX riders to Lincoln. Riders range in age from just three to sixty five.
This is the second year the competition has been held at the Star City BMX track.
While riders navigate the track, vendors see an opportunity.
They expect to make money for their business and tax dollars for the city.
Tab Bellamy of Lincoln says she got a late start in the racing game at the age of 38. She say BMX Riders risk injury while navigating the track.
Despite a laundry list of injuries over the past two years, Bellamy says nothing can dampen her passion for racing.
Her secret? Perseverance
The Nationals go all week at the Star City Track located across from Oak Park.
Admission is free, but there is a charge for parking.
