Husker fan Larry Porter gives his barber some instructions. "A little off the top, Joe."

Joe Lopez of Hair Performers on O Street in Lincoln obliges.

But it's not that cut and dry when it comes to opinions on the 2012 Husker football season.

"That staff has done what few people have done, win 10 games over a five year period. There is only a handful of teams that have done it. So the trick is not having its wheels fall off. You just have to come up with some better drivers," said Porter from his barber chair.

At bus stops and gas stations across Lincoln the talk mainly focuses on recruiting.

"The fact is that they just didn't have the talent that Georgia had," said Porter.

"There are a lot of changes that need to be made by Bo Pelini. The offense needs to step up, the defense needs to step up," said Ryan Jensen, a Husker fan.

"It's been our problem for a long time; Taller defenders to compete with taller receivers," said Douglas Beahm who has been a Husker fan for more than 50 years.

"They are not recruiting good football players. Martinez is a good football player, but he just didn't pan out," said Kenneth Lofton, a Husker fan.

"There is no question that we can play with any football team in the country," said Bo Pelini in his post game press conference after his team's 45-31 loss Georgia in the Capital One Bowl.

Many fans want to continue the momentum Pelini has gained in his five year stint as Husker Head coach.

"It's a little frustrating, but it's okay. I think he's done a great job and I don't want Pelini to go that's for sure," said Roger Stolley, a Husker fan.

"You know Osborne didn't win right away all the time, so I think you got to stay with him," said Steve Bourke, a Husker fan.

Opinions remain optimistic since college football experts see the Nebraska schedule as softer next year. That brings more hope for the 2013 season.
