Police in Laplace, Louisiana arrested a wanted man from Beatrice possibly in connection to deadly shoot out that killed two police officers.

29-year-old Kyle Joekel was last seen in Gage County on August 21, 2011.

He slipped past law enforcement there and in Kansas.

The Gage County Sheriff confirmed that on Thursday police did arrest Joekel and four others in Louisiana.

Laplace officials believe Joekel could be linked to the shootings of several St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff's deputies.

It is not clear if Joekel shot anyone or his specific role in the crime.

34-year-old Brandon Nielsen and 27-year-old Jeremy Triche died in the shooting.
