LINCOLN, Neb. -- This week the BetterU participants met at Holmes Lake to take a group walk.
This is a chance for the ladies to get in some good exercise while bonding with each other.
Fitness Trainer Karen O'Shea gave the participants some walking tips before the group took off.
"I do like to see people walk with their arms approximately at 90 degree angles, moving straight in line rather than crossing over the body. A lot of people including runners will waste energy by having their arms go across the body," O'Shea said.
She adds that it's best to have relaxed shoulders and lightly grasped hands.
O'Shea also recommends 20 to 60 minutes of aerobic activity. She also suggests people go at a pace that is comfortable for them.
