Breast Cancer Survivor Throws Out First Pitch

Annette Kunzman just threw breast cancer a strike, right down the middle, as it were.

The computer science teacher at Pius X, a breast cancer survivor herself, tossed out the first pitch before the Pius Girls' Softball team hit the field Tuesday night in Lincoln against Beatrice.

While she's helping raise money to battle the deadly disease, she's also setting an example of how to stand strong, especially when life throws you a curve ball.

"It can be overcome," said Kunzman, when talking about her battle, that still continues to this day. It was diagnosed back in 2009.

She continues to teach, and fight.
