LINCOLN, Neb. -- Police arrested a brother and sister for attacking their stepfather with a knife, bottle and an iron.
Officer Katie Flood said a 50-year-old arrived at a hospital with multiple knife wounds just after 5 p.m. Sunday. The victim and a witness told officers he was attacked by his stepson and stepdaughter.
Police believe 18-year-old Henrionce Your Highness Cope got into a fight with his stepdad after arguing much of the day in a home in the 2800 block of Starr Street. Police say Cope hit him several times and then left, but came back a short time later with his sister 20-year-old Sade Nicole Cope.
Police say Henrionce had a knife and Sade had a broken bottle and a clothes iron. The pair attacked the victim stabbing him at least 13 times.
Henrionce and Sade Cope were arrested Monday afternoon for 2nd degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. The victim was initially treated for life threatening injuries, but has since improved and is expected to live.
