Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning unveiled his legislative plan for 2012 by highlighting four bills targeted at making Nebraskans safer.
Bruning says he wants to see stiffer penalties for specific crimes. Senator Tony Fulton presented one of the bills which seeks to increase the penalty for concealing a body from the police.
Fulton's bill makes such a crime punishable with up to 20 years behind bars.
Another bill seeks felony charges for child negligence in the case that it leads to the death or serious injury of a child.
Frivolous lawsuits by prisoners are also being targeted with a "three strikes" type of bill.
The final bill is aimed at doing away with "designer drugs." It seeks to treat possession of a drug called "bath salts" the same as methamphetamines.
