Businesses and hotels in downtown Lincoln spent Tuesday morning preparing for New Year's Eve. For many, the party is just getting started.
The Embassy Suites started setting up the Regents Ballroom for their annual bash Tuesday morning. The hotel says all rooms and tickets for the event were sold out weeks ago, but the Embassy Bar and Grille will remain open for dinner and drinks during normal business hours.
"We have a lot of guests who come here year after year," said Embassy Suites Sales Manager, Tina Bretting. "It's been a tradition for some of those guests who are coming, it's a good time."
Rich Bar and Lounge is celebrating their first New Year's Eve in Lincoln after opening in June. The new music group 402 will be making it's Lincoln debut at rich, which features former D'Funk singer Eddie Brown..
"Tonight, the 402 will be the main event, they're going to put on an outstanding show," said Rich Owner, Lawrence Chatters. "We'll have food, and we'll have the countdown on a big projection screen, so it should be a very exciting night."
If you're on a budget, or you're planning on bar hopping, Main Street Cafe on O Street is also throwing a party this New Year's Eve. They're charging $3 at the door, which includes a complimentary champagne toast to ring in the new year.
