A woman died in the hospital from her injuries following a Wednesday afternoon crash.
Lincoln Police said 76-year-old Maurine Mumma died Sunday afternoon. Police say she suffered a from a catastrophic brain injury . Mumma's 16-year-old granddaughter, a passenger in the car, is still recovering at a Lincoln hospital.
The accident happened at Highway 2 and South 40th Street after Mumma turned in front of a pickup. No citations were issued.
Police say Mumma and her granddaughter were both wearing seatbelts.
Traffic in the area was backed up for miles as emergency crews responded to the crash.
