A fire is now out near Calamus Lake, but not before officials say it burned 60 acres of a wildlife management area Wednesday.

Region 26 Director Alma Beland says the fire burnt itself out when it reached the lake.

The Burwell Volunteer Fire Department was called to the blaze.

No official cause has been determined, but it appears a cigarette could be to blame.
