"It's just still kind of shocking. Even now coming and looking at it, that's what happened. A car came crashing through the fence and almost into the house, practically." -Sean Kreiner, homeowner's son
A Grand Island homeowner got a scary surprise Sunday morning. A car broke through her backyard fence and slammed into her home.
Meryl Kreiner said the accident didn't even wake her.
When she did get outside, she saw the vehicle up against the back wall of her home.
She said the driver and passengers were nowhere to be found.
Kriener said neighbors tell her those in the car tried to drive away but their vehicle high centered on a destroyed air conditioning unit.
Those same neighbors told her the four people in the car then got out and ran.
Kreiner's son said the family is just grateful no one was seriously hurt.
"It's just still kind of shocking," Sean Kreiner said. "Even now coming and looking at it, that's what happened. A car came crashing through the fence and almost into the house, practically."
Police said they've found the driver and three passengers, all juveniles.
They said the driver was ticketed for driving under the influence.
