While trying to stop a fight in the back seat, the driver hit a parked car.
Just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Lincoln Police were called to the intersection of 27th and E for a car crash.
When officers arrived, a man ran off and was caught a short distance from the crash.
According to Captain Jason Stille, the man who ran from them was actually involved in an assault in the back seat of the car, just before the crash.
Though police are still trying to piece together the details, officers believe the driver attempted to stop the fight between a man and woman by slamming on his brakes then accelerating again. Somehow, he hit a parked pickup, locking bumpers.
A tow truck was called to disconnect the vehicles and the back seat assailant was arrested for domestic assault.
