Lincoln emergency crews were on scene of a car that crashed into a building at 6315 O street.
According to Lincoln Fire and Rescue, man who lives at Eastmont Towers, drove his car over a ledge, into the building.
Crews were on scene with in minutes to help the man, who was trapped in his car. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say the man was backing his car out of a parking stall when he thought he hit something. That's when they say he put his car in drive and quickly stepped on the accelerator.
According to LFR, the car jumped forward, through a guard rail, over a ledge and into a patio area.
LFR used the jaws of life to access the engine, so they could disconnect the battery.
Eastmont Towers is a retirement community.
