A car/train collision shut down a railroad crossing in Grand Island Sunday afternoon.

Grand Island Police said a car stalled and got stuck on the tracks at the Broadwell Avenue crossing.

They said the driver made it out safely, but the collision totaled his 1984 Ford Bronco and caused extensive damage to the railroad crossing arm.

Officials said the crossing is expected to remain closed until at least Monday afternoon.
