City Of Lincoln Under Budget Despite Third Snowstorm of Season

"We usually budget for two major snowstorms per year," said Lincoln Public Works Director Scott Opfer.
Thursday's storm was the third of the winder season. Despite the extra snow fall, there is no shortfall in the city's snow budget.
"We are under budget, but there is still a chance that that will change. It could get interesting if we get more. We have three weeks of winter left, technically," said Opfer who added a March or April storm would put the city over budget.
"The sunshine and the temperatures in the upper 20s really helped knock down the snow melt quickly. We did use a little more salt so that helped, but the sunshine really has to help and it did. Overall we are doing well."
