City of Lincoln on "Pothole Patrol"

By  |

Potholes are popping up all over Lincoln, causing some big problems.
City crews are doubling the amount of crews out there to help take care of the potholes.

They've been working since November, and the recent cold weather made it difficult for crews to keep up with the plethora of potholes around town. However Lincoln Public Works & Utilities Manager Scott Opfer said repairing roads is a year-round job.

"We never really stop patching potholes. We go to a different method once it warms up," said Opfer. "We go into a mode of cutting out holes and putting in more permanent repairs in places. We are constantly working on the street."

If you come across a pothole, or hit one you are urged to contact the city. You can call the pothole hotline 402-441-7646, go online to lincoln.ne.gov and use the keyword 'pothole' or use your smartphone to send in a pothole picture. Just download the app by searching for Lincoln Action Center
