Lincoln, Neb.-- Laughing to save a life.
That was the theme at Pinnacle Bank Arena Friday to help fight pediatric brain cancer.
Almost 9,000 people showed up for a comedy show with Larry the Cable Guy, but also to help raise money for Team Jack.
University of Nebraska at Lincoln fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho said they wanted to do something big and from the heart, so about a year ago, they started organizing the show at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
"Really, a lot of selfless giving is what we're looking for tonight," Lukas Fricke, from the fraternity, said.
"We've already raised a lot of money but we want to keep that momentum going."
Inside the arena doors, t-shirts, bracelets and hats were all available for purchase, all with Team Jack logos.
Fricke said their values and the way the fraternity tries to carry themselves aligns perfectly with Team Jack and their fight against pediatric brain cancer. He said this specific type of cancer is very important to the fraternity, so joining up with Team Jack was a smart fit.
And, Fricke said Larry the Cable Guy offered to take part for free, which would hopefully provide gut-busting laughter for everyone in attendance.
Fricke said all proceeds from the show would go to Team Jack and the fight against pediatric brain cancer.
