It doesn't matter where you go in Lincoln, it's likely some sort of road work is being done.
South 40th Street just reopened between South and A Streets, but construction didn't stop. It simply moved, and not by much.
"Oh yeah. They've replaced the street and main serve before," Michael Nelson who lives in the area said.
This time on S. 40th it's a water main being installed, and it's right at the end of peoples driveways.
"They do what they have to and you deal with it," Nelson said.
It's also right in front of Campbell's Nurseries and Garden Center, and one employee says now is not the best time to detour business.
"There's obviously concern because of the timing of this," Randy Wolf said. "A lot of our sales occur in the months of September, October, November and December."
However, being part of the flower business, Wolf doesn't mind the installation of a new water main.
"We do understand water is pretty important in our business so it sounds like a new 6-inch water main is good to have," Wolf said.
The city says the project is supposed to be finished in December, but Nelson isn't planning on that happening.
"The guy told me it would be next year before they were done. They're not going to make December 23rd, it will be snowing," Nelson said.
