Corvette Car Show Benefits Grand Island Charity

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A car show Sunday was different than many because it benefited a local charity and was made up of only corvettes.

The South Central Corvette Club began in January 2013 and they raise money to donate to Grand Island charities.

Sunday, 42 corvettes were on display at the Conestoga Mall for people to come and see.

Raffle tickets, entry fees, donations, and club dues will all go to one local business.

"We've given over $1,000 away this year to multiple charities across Grand Island and this is another one of our drives. We haven't made a vote on who we are going to have for the benefactor of this but we'll be giving at least another $500 away," said Dave Forbes, the President of the South Central Corvettes.

The Humane Society and the Korean War Hero flights were the other charities they've donated to. Each was given $500 this year.
