Police say a man died after crashing a stolen car into a traffic light pole in Lincoln Thursday morning.
Capt. Jim Davidsaver said 18-year-old Steven A. Corning of Sterling, Nebraska died Thursday morning.
Capt. Davidsaver said the car Corning was driving was registered in Dorchester, Nebraska under his stepmother's name and was reported stolen.
The Saline County Sheriff's Office could not release any information as of Thursday night.
The crash occurred just before 9 a.m. Thursday in north-central Lincoln. Police say the car was speeding when it jumped a curb, knocked down a speed limit sign and rammed into the pole.
Court reports out of Saline County show Corning had four felony burglary charges and was awaiting trial in April.
LPD said an autopsy and toxicology test have been scheduled to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role.
