Crimestoppers Tip Leads to Coinery Burglary Arrest

Police say a Crimestoppers tip helped identify the man they believe broke into the Coinery Nov. 18.

Police say someone broke into the business at 1264 S. Cotner and stole $2,000 in coins and cash. Surveillance pictures were posted on the Crimestoppers website and someone recognized the thief as 20 year old Dakota Gaffney.

Police say Gaffney had a friend pawn 43 coins at local pawnshops. Gaffney was found by officers at his home Monday night and arrested for burglary.

Police are investigating whether or not he is also responsible for a robbery at the Coinery a week later.
