A man has been arrested for DUI after the car he crashed caught fire.
Just before 1:30 Friday morning, Lincoln Police were called to 9th and Pioneers Blvd. for a crash. Minutes later, fire crews were sent there too for a car on fire.
Lincoln Fire Captain Brian Giles said when they arrived, the car was fully involved with fire. The driver was already out of the car.
Giles said they think fluids, leaking from the car, ignited on hot exhaust pipe.
Crews watered down the brown grass around the car as a precaution after dousing the car.
The car is believed to have been traveling west when it left the road and hit an embankment.
Police arrested the driver for DUI.
The car is considered a total loss.
